Nearly everyday, I'm asked "how long did it take to grow that?" Of course, by that, they mean my hair...
Why do people care? Well, here's a list I just pulled out of my butt:
1. Afros are not in style any more, therefore any large afro is worthy of notice.
2. Any kind of afro, especially natural, is rare on white people.
3. I'm nearly 6'8" without my hair, making me stand out regardless.
Frankly, I'm tired of people asking how long it took. It's not just because I hear it asked everyday, but I honestly don't remember how long it took anymore. I've had it since Jr. High, and I get it trimmed every so often.
Therefore, I plan on completely shaving my head (including my beard) sometime this week (probably Saturday). I will keep a detailed log on changes in hair growth. I'll be keeping these updates here at this site, so now anyone who wondered "how long did it take to grow that?" will now know:
